February Events

February 14 – 15 P.Y.N. Valley

PYN Valley (PYN stands for Powerful Youth Night). PYN is for girls in 4th, 5th, and 6th grades and will be held on February 14th and 15th, 2015. PYN is obviously a winter based camp but you sleep in indoors in heated spaces. We offer outdoor activities as well and indoor ones. The girls get to do one session each of an activity, skill, craft, and outdoor fun – they can narrow their choices down and we will try our best to give them one of their top three choices. The girls get to work on their cooking skills, learn how to work together while at camp to achieve different goals, participate in a talent show, have some new and fun experiences, and make new friends while bonding further with the girls in their troop. We also bring Girl Scout traditions into camp such as a Scouts Own Ceremony and singing Girl Scout Songs.  PYN Valley is run by older Girl Scouts and the older girls are the ones that teach the classes. We have several girls that are in their 20’s that still come back to teach at this camp each year (this speaks for itself as to the fun factor).

The last day to contact Liz Howse to reserve your space at camp will be Tuesday, November 25th. After that date if we don’t have enough girls – PYN Valley 2015 will be canceled.  At this point it is critical that you send in an e-mail request for space and if we have enough girls you will be notified to mail in your registration via US mail.  Registration packet PYN Complete Pkg 2015.

Please let us know if you have any questions.            Liz Howse (      Rita Esterl (
